A MESSAGE FROM SHIVA DAS
Please watch this short video as I explain a bit about the structure and contents of this course.
WHO ARE YOU?
You are the Divine Light. You are not the anguish and pain that has been put into your body and nervous system by the “world’s view”, the presumption that you are a separate body in a separate world.
This causes pain. It is not true.
An investigation into learning these mantras and prayers will help you to feel the fact of your beingness, by shifting your view of this world just enough to help you see the fact that you and every thing are arising because of the Reality of the Divine.
We are not taking about ideas of enlightenment here in the parlance of spiritual studies.
It is much more ordinary, serious, sober, logical & urgent to investigate what is actually real….and then relax.
There is simply reality and that is all. Every thing will be OK.
NOW IS THE TIME
THE POWER OF DOING THINGS NOW!
We are all guilty of putting things off. It is very easy to say "oh, I will do that tomorrow". But we also have to consider the effect that these decisions have on our tomorrow.
What are you willing to sacrifice for your own health and well being?
How much is your life worth?
We all, at least, deep down inside, understand that we only have so much time. One day....sooner or later, we will be out of time. I realize that to many of us, especially in times of good health, feel like it will never end. It is only when illness and disease come that we begin to consider the end of our life.
So, in order to enjoy our lives now and be stable for the inevitability of life itself, we need to find ways to stabilize our mind, breath, body and spirit.
We should look at these simple morning practices as non negotiable commitments that we do for our benefit as well as the benefit of others. We are of no use to ourselves or others if we are always depleted of our own energy and life force.
UNRAVELING THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE
At some point during the course of our lives, we will inevitably ask the questions: Who am I, What is this vast universe, Is there a God?
These questions of our life's purpose, origin, meaning as well as our own destiny can be revealed through a deep study of the vedic & tantric prayers and rituals.
Within these Sanskrit prayers, the yogis of ancient times imbedded the wisdom keys to help reveal these secrets for ourselves.
What You Will Discover in This Course
Over the past several years I have offered several courses in specific rituals or pujas.
In this course I want to share with you the vastness and experiences of what I have learned in terms of yogic prayers and mantras as well as the mysteries of the Sanskrit language.
We can use each mantra individually in a way that you might construct your own ritual around each one.
All of these mantras and prayers are sourced in the tantric and vedic traditions of yoga. Many of these words were and still are a part of the the great Mystery Schools of ancient India.
Each mantra or prayer has its own unique power and purpose, however they all have a common thread; to aid us in reestablishing balance, stability, purpose and peace in our lives.
Incorporating Several methods of Puja, or ritual worship, we can use one mantra along with a simple series of actions including mudras, gestures, pranayama as well as yogic postures which when woven together create a beautiful tapestry to help induce an state of inner beingness.

YOUR GUIDE
DAVID SHIVA DAS
I began practicing yoga in the summer of 1994. Immediately I knew that I would continue this practice for the rest of my life. Along the way I began to suspect that this healing practice was much deeper than I had first realized. I began to search and explore this wisdom tradition with great curiosity.
Seven years later I began teaching yoga, at first because I thought it would help motivate me to learn more, but I eventually realized that the greatest teaching was found in helping others to simply feel better.
In 2004, after 10 years of practice and teaching others, I finally was formally introduced to chant and mantra practice by my friend and partner who eventually became my wife, Abhi Durga Devi. It was not an easy thing for me to accept at first. Eventually I surrenderer into the depth of these practices.
I was fortunate to find a teacher who could really teach me the depth of practice that I knew in my heart existed. My teacher taught me about the ancient sacred language of yoga, Sanskrit and educated me about the sounds, meter and meaning of these prayers which date back to the beginning of time itself.
Along the way, guided by my teacher, I was introduced to the mudras, gestures and rituals that accompany these esoteric practices and many of the secrets of this mystical tradition was revealed to me.
Several years ago my teacher encouraged me to go out into the world and teach others. And this now is what I offer to you.
